Author Guidelines

Journal of Finance and Economics Research (JFER) is an open access blind-peer review journal which covers dimension relating to Finance and Economics withno publication/review fee. The goal of JFER is to publish intuitive, original and impactful research. JFER welcomes submissions of research manuscripts in any sub-domains of business studies emphasizing on Finance and Economics implication.

Submission Overview

Authors must submit manuscripts through the journal's online submission system. Before submission, authors should ensure that the manuscript falls within the aims and scope of the Journal of Finance and Economics Research (JFER), complies with the journal's ethical, authorship, originality, and artificial intelligence policies, and follows APA 7th edition.

JFER follows a double-blind peer-review process. Author-identifying information must therefore be provided only in the separate title-page file and must not appear in the anonymized main manuscript.

Files Required for Submission

Authors must upload the following files separately:

Title Page: Complete manuscript and author information, including all required declarations.

Anonymized Main Manuscript: The complete manuscript without author-identifying information.

Cover Letter: A concise statement explaining the manuscript's originality, relevance, and contribution.

Supplementary Files, where applicable: Questionnaires, interview guides, datasets, appendices, ethical approvals, permissions, additional tables, or other supporting material.

The title page and main manuscript should be submitted in editable Microsoft Word (.docx) format. Files should be clearly named, for example: Title Page_Manuscript Title.docx and Anonymized Manuscript_Manuscript Title.docx.

Manuscript Structure and Content

Original research manuscripts should normally be arranged in the following order:

1. Title

2. Abstract

3. Keywords

4. JEL classification codes, where applicable

5. Introduction

6. Literature review

7. Theoretical or conceptual framework

8. Hypotheses, research questions, or propositions

9. Methodology

10. Results

11. Discussion

12. Conclusion

13. Theoretical, managerial, practical, policy, or social implications, where relevant

14. Limitations and future research

15. References

16. Appendices and supplementary material, where applicable

Formatting Requirements


Submit the manuscript in editable Microsoft Word (.docx) format.

Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-line spacing, and margins of at least one inch on all sides.

Number all pages consecutively.

Use APA 7th-edition heading levels and presentation conventions.

Use British English consistently throughout the manuscript.

Define abbreviations at first use and maintain consistency in spelling, terminology, symbols, and numerical presentation.

Avoid unnecessary footnotes and endnotes.

Tables, Figures, and Equations

Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively, referred to in the text, and provided with clear titles and explanatory source notes.

Tables must be editable and must not be submitted as screenshots or images.

Figures, diagrams, graphs, and conceptual models must be clear, readable, and submitted in high resolution.

Original figures should state "Source: Authors' compilation." Adapted or reproduced material must be properly cited and accompanied by permission where required.

All abbreviations, symbols, units, and significance levels used in tables and figures must be defined.

Equations must be created using an editable equation editor, numbered consecutively where necessary, and followed by definitions of all variables and symbols.

Referencing and Citation Style

All manuscripts submitted to JFER must follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Seventh Edition (APA 7th edition) for in-text citations, reference lists, tables, figures, headings, quotations, and statistical presentation.

Every source cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list, and every reference-list entry must be cited in the text.

References must be accurate, complete, alphabetically arranged, and consistently formatted.

A DOI must be included as an active hyperlink wherever available.

Authors must verify references against the original publication or publisher record.

Fabricated, unverifiable, incomplete, or AI-generated references may result in rejection or further editorial action.

Manuscripts that do not comply with APA 7th-edition requirements may be returned to the authors for correction before peer review or publication.

Word Limit for Original Research Articles

Original research articles should normally not exceed 8,000 words, excluding the abstract, references, tables, figures, appendices, and supplementary material. Manuscripts should present the research problem, theoretical foundation, methodology, findings, discussion, implications, limitations, and conclusion in a clear and concise manner. Manuscripts exceeding the prescribed word limit may be considered only where the additional length is academically justified and approved by the Editor.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

The Journal of Finance and Economics Research (JFER) does not charge any submission, editorial processing, article processing, publication, or access fees. All accepted articles are published free of charge and made immediately available through open access.


Submission Checklist

Before completing submission, the corresponding author should confirm that:

The manuscript falls within JFER's aims and scope.

The manuscript is original and is not under consideration elsewhere.

The number of authors does not exceed three and all authors meet the authorship criteria.

All authors have approved the manuscript and agreed to the author order.

A separate title page has been uploaded with official institutional email addresses for all authors and the corresponding author's active contact number.

The main manuscript has been fully anonymized, including its file properties, comments, and tracked changes.

The abstract, keywords, and JEL classification codes have been included.

Ethical approval, informed consent, funding, conflict-of-interest, data-availability, and AI-use statements have been provided where applicable.

All tables, figures, and equations are numbered, cited, editable, and properly sourced.

Every in-text citation appears in the reference list and every reference is cited in the manuscript.

References comply with APA 7th edition and include DOI hyperlinks wherever available.

The manuscript complies with JFER's similarity and AI-generated-content thresholds.
