Effective Teamwork and Management Systems for SMEs Contractors' Growth in Cape Coast Metropolis

Possessing adequate knowledge of a given market or business environment is required for the success or growth of a company. The study aims at determining the variables that influence the growth of small and medium sized contractors' in Cape Coast Metropolis. A questionnaire survey was employed in the study to obtain the required data from professionals made up of building and civil engineering contractors. Out of the two hundred questionnaires administered, only one hundred and twenty-one were returned and represented 60.5%. The study identified six factors, three each from building stable teamwork and appropriate management systems) to be the most influential factors that affect the growth of building contractors in Cape Coast Metropolis. Both factors were found to be strong indicators for building contractors' growth. Hence, the need to strengthen the various factors of growth in designing a policy guideline for building contractors.
