In this paper an automated dynamic bandwidth provisioning and virtualization in Software Defined Networks has been demonstrated. The Next Generation Optical Networks require efficient programmability which facilitates on-demand services that are not considered by standards or vendor implementations. SDN architecture is proposed for the deployment of the automated control layer capable of providing simultaneous functionality of virtualization and bandwidth provisioning. The framework introduces greater flexibility in complex networks with the simplified architecture.
